The alpina Smart home water detector warns you as soon as a leak occurs so that you can take immediate action. This is not a superfluous luxury since water damage and inconvenience can often lead to major damage if you act too late. Think of large moisture stains in the ceiling, bulging laminate and even flooded basements. Place the leakage sensor for example in the kitchen near the dishwasher, or in the bathroom near the washing machine, and receive an alarm on your phone as soon as the sensor detects a leak. In this way the sensor protects your home effectively against water damage. The leak detector is IP66 water resistant and has a detection distance of no less than 90 metres. NOTE: The water detector can only be used in combination with the Zigbee Gateway. When the alpina Smart home water detector detects a leak in, for example, the dishwasher or washing machine, it can send an alarm or push notification to your phone. This is done via the special alpina Smart home app that you can download for Android and Apple in the Google Play Store and the App Store. To connect the Zigbee water detector to the alpina Smart home app, select the option 'add sub-device' in the app. Press and hold the reset button on the sensor for at least 5 seconds, until the indicator light comes on. Once the installation is complete you can start using the sensor. In the alpina Smart home app, if you have several sensors, you can give each sensor a name. This way you can see in the app exactly which device is having problems and where the leakage is coming from. You can easily place the water detector on a clean and flat surface using the supplied sticker. The IP value indicates the protection level of a device against water. This standard runs from IP21 to IP69. The higher the number, the more resistant the device is to water and moisture. The alpina Smart home water detector has an IP66 certification. This means that the leak detector is waterproof to rain and waves of water. This means that you can place it close to water sources without affecting the sensor's performance.
