The halogen light bulb will produce consistent performance; light temperature, luminosity, ect., for its entire life span due to the halogen gas it contains. The average life span of a halogen light bulb is about 2,000 to 2,500 hours. Compare with an incandescent light bulbs life span of approximately 1,000 hours. The halogen light is usable for more than twice as long as the incandescent, the down side is the cost.These halogen lamps are dimmable.
