Aromatic herbs, satureja montana v.25

The Savory plant is a perennial suffruticosa that belongs to the Lamiaceae family. Originally from the Mediterranean area, it is characterized by branched stems covered with narrow and lanceolate leaves of an intense green colour. The flowers are small, pinkish-white in color. In the kitchen: it is used to flavor and accompany fish, eggs, legumes, raw or cooked vegetables. Harvest: the leaves can be harvested during the summer and early autumn months. Conservation: cut the stems at the base, clean them with a damp cloth and tie them in small bunches, to hang in a dry and ventilated place. Leave to dry and shell the leaves, storing them in glass jars. Beneficial properties: Savory has antiseptic, expectorant and diuretic properties.
